The guy I got it from didn't have any probs either. Its a total crap shoot and not worth the effort for the probs it may cause because any gains will be very minimal anyway.

Guys it doesn't hurt anything to pull the screen out of the MAF. Porting it may cause the above stated problems but pulling the screen will have no ill effects.
I didnt realize you replied to this Al.. I have read some really out there threads here, like the 160 thermo will cause the plugs to fail.. Or that putting a K&N filter in causes you to get motor oil in the intake.. oh oh.. You cant run a supercharger with more than 9psi on the street cause you will have to much boost at idle and the computer cant handle it. You also cant put certain exhaust sytems on a stock or near stock car because there isnt enough back pressure..

Makes me giggle sometimes...

It doesn't help anything to descreen either. So why mess with it?

Why worry about doing the free ram air... the throttle body bypass...?

Alone, everything's worthless, but do all the free mods, and you'll notice something.

I took the screen off my '99 and didn't have a single problem with it. Did I notice a difference? Well, I did about 10 mods at once, so who knows. If it really does lean out your car like some say, then that was great for me, because after adding my full exhaust, you can guarantee that it was running more rich.

So yeah, there's good things about everything, you just need to know what you're doing, and don't trust everything you hear
