rpo codes

what is the rpo code for the ss package? will it still have a z28 rpo? cuz my friend bought a 99 ss. it has 17" zr1's i thought they came with 16x8's. stuff on it just dont seem right. so thats y i was wondering what the ss package rpo was. thanks

Simple rule to remember about the 4th gens....all SS's are Z28's, but not all Z28's are SS's. The early LT1 SS's came with 16's from SLP I believe. But, most SS's you see will have 17x9 ZR1 style or 10-spoke style rims. You can check for the WU8 on the door or you can call up SLP, give them the VIN, and they can tell you the details behind the car (build #, options ordered, how many were made identical to yours, etc).

pretty much what he said, and it was the early LT1 SS Convertibles that came with 16x8 versions of the "ZR1" design wheel, all other SS's got 17x9.
The pseudo Z06 like "10 spoke" wheels were introduced on 2000 SS's.
