removing AIR...does it thow code or not?

this instruction page says that removing the AIR provisions "Removing this system should NOT throw any codes". ok well that is all fine and good...but i don't like the should part.

who has done this and DOES it thow codes? i'm starting to hear a very noticable whine from my air pump that has started recently, and i've also had some idle issues (not sure if that has anything to do with it or not).

would rather just pull the whole system than spend the money on a new pump.

Yes, it will throw a code, but after removing it, and using block off plates to cover up the holes, it can easily be edited out.

I was thinking about doing this the other day. Went out to the car and pulled the pump fuse and threw a code. Try pulling yours and see what happens. The pump shuts off after the car is warm anyway.

It won't affect performance in any way, but you will have the annoying SES light. The only real benefit to removing the AIR and EGR system is for weight savings and it cleans up the engie bay.

I pulled the pump, hoses and tubes. Just left the solenoid for the vac line, blocked it and would only throw a code every couple months.
