The Grantilli is finiky. It can make more hp than the SLP, but it can also cost you hp. A lot of people have had different experiences with that one. The SLP one is more consistant, but less hp. It also won't give you rich/lean fuel problems.

I went with the Granatelli MAFS. I got the cold air tuning (richens up the fuel curve) to avoid the rich/lean problems I was experiencing. It's also made out of plastic, so it won't get as hot. So, I say go with Granatelli.

The Slp makes mine run very rich. 11.5 A/f when dynoed. However it pulls much harder at higher rpm's. If I were to do it over again I would get a Pace VV. There $184 and haven't heard any problems with them and most have lost 1-2 tenths in et. The GMAF gives everybody problems running lean and there a ripoff.

stay with a stock maf unless you are somehow pushing 600+ hp.

I've been running the Pace 85mm MAF with no problems. On my 01 SS I had the slp MAF but it was junk; set off my SES light.

I picked up a solid MPH in the 1/4 with a stock maf over the 85mm slp...

Is it better to leave a stock Mass Airflow Sensor? I was looking at a 80 mm throttlebody. I would think if you change the throttle body to 80 mm and changed the mass airflow senor would that work? Bec the bigger throttle body would let more air in right?Or is it better to change the throttle body and leave the mass air flow stock..

one more thing what is the differnce between the brands of mass airflow sensors and if you would port your own?

thanks

The difference is there calibrated so your A/F shouldn't get screwed up. When you port and descreen the stock one or by ends a lot of the extra airflow goes right past the maf sensor wires so it isn't picked up by the pcm and then you'll run way lean.
