Question Pros & Cons of Suspension Lowering

As I continue to modify my Z28, one modification I contemplated adding was a 1 1/2"-2" drop to the car. I would really like to drop 2" from the rear and 1 1/2" from the front. Has anyone here modified their car to this level? What have been the disadvantages?

You can see pics of my car with the Eibach sportlines in the sig. It says its a 2 inch drop, but is a little less. I think the pros are better handling, looks badass, tighter susp. The only con, is minor to me, the bumps in the road tend to make the car hit alot harder, since the suspension is so mugh tighter.

The ride is rougher, but it's a Camaro. The ride is alway rough. It looks nice and handles better. Be careful not to dig the nose when pulling into parking lots. I have heard of problem with bumpsteer. It is not too common and only noticeable in very tight turns. I'd say got for it.

The handling is a personal preference matter. To me, our springs handle great and offer awesome ride characteristics. I used to have Eibachs and replaced them with ours. I couldn't be happier. I don't mind rough rides, but to me, mine doesn't seem rough at all. I think 2" is too low, especially when you get long tubes.

Cool

I had a 1.6 Eibach Sportline kit and the ride was way too rough. The car felt like it was going to fall apart. I now have a 1.4-drop and it is remarkably smooth. If 1.6 was devastating for me the 2" will feel like you replaced your springs with 2 x 4 pieces of wood.

Hope this helps !!

I installed a set of 1.5" lowering springs on my '99 TA Firehawk right after I bought it. Big mistake! I didn't care for the looks (too ghetto), and the car rode like a gravel truck (bottomed out over nearly every road imperfection). Took the springs off, and went back to stock. Not satisfied with the looks (too 4X4). Solution? Bought the SLP Bilstein/Eiback package. Ride height is just right (about 3/4" drop), and ride quality is excellent. Expensive, but worth it!
Just a word of advise, though. Don't change springs without changing the shocks too. They are intended to work together. Going with a super-stiff set of aftermarket springs with a set of stock shocks is not going to give you satisfactory results.
