problems with starter
I need a new silinoid for my starter I haven't really had time to look at it yet but I know thats the problem by the way it starts sometimes and doesn't at other times....I have tried to get a new silinoid but every one says that they don't carry them. and a new starter is like 200 does anyone know if the silinoid is built into the starter and not replaceable or is there somewhere I can get one I have a 99 TA any help will be appriciated....
it's biult onto the starter body. some alt and starter rebiuld shops an rebiuld the selinoid but it;s not really worth it. are you sure it's the starter? you might just wanna make sure by taking a voltage reading on both the main feed and selinoid wire for batery voltage. a bad connection could cause the issue you discribe. the main wire should have full batery voltage all the time and the seliniod wire should have batery voltage when the key is turned to crank..
is it clicking at all when it don;t start?
