Oil monitor and 160tstat on 00 and up

Question?????? On 2000 models and up we got the "oil change" monitor light. This light monitors the oil life by considering engine rpm's vs coolant temperature and drive time. If you lower the tsat to 160, wont this fool the sensor so it cant detect the slight increase in coolant temperature when the efficiency of the oil begins to wear out?

Well do you really plan on counting on that oil change light to tell you when you should change your oil? I sure as hell dont. I changed my oil not to long ago and it came within 2 weeks. Just ignore the light and install the 160* thermo if you want to.
