Problem with cutout and SES

I have had an SES light on for a while. Its the low efficiency in bank 2. My mechanic thinks it might be the cutout. Has anyone else triggered an SES light with a cutout?

There is no way a cutout can set off your SES light. Might want to check out your O2 sensors. I had a problem with them one time.

I bet on a bad O2 sensor I have cutouts right behind the headers and get no SES light.

Bad O2 sensor.

When I had some exhaust work done, my O2 sensor failed immediately after. I guess it can get too hot when they are welding the pipes, or maybe it gets clogged with residue from the welding.

Replace the O2. If you're still under warranty, see if they will do it for you. They did mine ... didn't care that I had modified the exhaust.
