Oil change.

I want to change the oil in my car. (The light has been blinking everytime I start my car for a week now) I was wondering what the best oil for the car is. It will only really be ran in the summertime. I'll start it a few times in the winter, on this oil too because it won't have to be changed again before winter comes. How many quarts does she take? Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? The filter on my TL was damn near impossible to get to, is it worth it to just bring the car to the dealer? I did with the Acura. The Jeep is extremely easy, I just set up a lawn chair underneath, and watch it drain. Any special oil filters I should get?

Thanks,

~Paul~

Re: Oil change.

Oil changes are easy on these. Plug and filter are easy to get to.
I use 6 quarts of 5w-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic and a Mobil 1 filter M1-107 or M1-206. The 206 is stock length the 107 is longer. I use the longer one.

Re: Oil change.

Buy an oil filter wrench for the oil change. The stock size filter is flush with the bottom of the oil pan and only about half of the side of the filter is exposed to get a grip on it. It can be taken off without the wrench, but it's only $5 and it gets the filter off MUCH easier than with your hand.
