Need advice fast on these Hooker LT headers!!

I wanna purchase a set of headers from this member on the "LS1 Tech" board and was hoping if you guys think I should purchase them or not. The member is selling them for $400 (not sure if it includes s/h or not, still pending) Here's what he emailed me with:

"Hello the headers have egr hookups and supposedly the 98,99 hooker headers egr port is in a slightly different position. They will still work on a 2000 but you have to bent the egr tube a little. If you access ls1tech.com there are a few posts explaining how you can convert this easily. Included with the headers are a set of gaskets they came with. The headers are in perfect condition no dings dents or cracks. The headers originally came black and since then I had them bead blasted and purchased some Eastwood High temp ceramic paint. This paint is brushed on and is very expensive and easier than sending the headers to jet hot to be coated. I will also throw in the extra paint if you ever would want to do a Y pipe or touch up. The combination of a 224 cam and these headers was insane my brothers car put 403hp to the rear wheels. I didn't think headers would make a huge difference but the car came alive when these headers were added."

What do you guys think? yay or nay?

IMO, nay.

Perfect condition or not, they're still used...and un-coated Hooker LTs are only $400 brand new (basically). If he/she is going to include s/h then I'd say $350 is a decent price, if not, $300. JMO

Oh, and I assume you've got the emissions "problem" covered? I see you live in CA.

I'm gonna go nay with this offer then. Thanks. I just found out that the $400 does not include s&h. Yea, I've got the emissions "problem" covered. I got a "smog test only" hookup. If you're ever in the L.A. area (even though you live in Florida) and you need a smog hookup just lemme know. Thanks for your imput. I'm definitely going nay.

Jet hot has the same style as Hooker, on sale for $511 coated and shipped right from Jet hot. These are brand new. And the Y-pipe(no cats) is like $212 shipped and coated.

I just had the Jet_Hot L.T.'s put on. $489 and I have been told they are basically the same thing as Hooker Super Competition L.T.'s. Plus they have the infamous Jet-Hot coating on them. Y-pipe is kind of a pain. Mine is rubbing against the driver -side floor board when I first give it throttle. My wrench man tried to get me as much clearance as he could but the engine is torqueing so much it is lifting the y-pipe up when I first throttle. He is gonne redo the y but the headers are awsome so far. No track results as of yet though.

So jet hot is also doing the GP for LS1's also? I thought they were doing the GP only for LT1's. Glad to hear that the LT's are doing good for ya by the way.

Put a few small pieces of heater or radiator hose between the car and floorboard.

I'd save a little more dough and get the jet hots. Thicker tubes (quiter) and already coated. I like my hookers, and the gains were great, but they were $350 shipped painted black and i coated them myself for $20 from techline coatings.
