mystery issue, HELP!!!
so my wifes 2000 z28 has done something weird. she was driving down the road and lost all ummmm, lets say propulsion. the motor was winding about 3k rpm, but the car was going about 15 mph. at the same time, most of her gauges stopped working, speedo, odometer, fuel gauge and temp gauge. the strange thing about that is that when i plug in the computer, it still sends the info through that. also, no check engine light. are the 2 problems connected, i'm at a bit of a loss at this point, but it seems like they arent mutually exclusive problems from one another, any tips would reallly help, thanks in advance.

Assuming an automatic transmission, how does the fluid look? Low? Discolored? As for gauges, are any fuses blown?
. . . one step an a time . . .

Re: mystery issue, HELP!!!
i just put a brand new ignition switch in, seemed to help, but didnt make the issue go away, first thing i did was flush the tranny, the old fluid looked good, i havent found any blown fuses either, i replaced a few just in case. all the reading i have done says it could be a bcm, not sure about all that though, i did buy and install a new ecm in the car and that didnt seem to make any difference at all, this is a mystery....

Re: mystery issue, HELP!!!
ok, latest update, i got a computer plugged into it, its throwing 2 codes at me, a P0650 code, that says there is a MIL circuit problem, and a P0801 code that says there is a reverse inhibit control problem, everything ive found points to this being a problem with the pcm
