My Dyno Numbers

I just got back from the Dyno.

Well, here are the numbers:

First Pull
397 RWHP
366 RWTQ

Second Pull
400 RWHP
379 RWTQ

So, all in all I was pretty happy. The HP graph showed the HP numbers still climbing at 6600 RPM but didn't want to push it any more than that.

Seeing that I am running only a 2800 Stall. I am making plans to move to a 3600 converter very soon. Is there any way of calculating theTQ number increase by going to a 3600 from a 2800? I was wondering if that would get me into the 410RWTQ range?

Thanks,

Bill

nice...

mild heads/cam and you're making 400rwhp....impressive.

wonder how much that LSx gave you...maybe 10-15 over the LS6?

Doesn't work that way ... think of a TC more as gearing. In reality with a higher stall you will more than likely lose rwtq and rwhp on a dyno ... but you will be faster at the track ...

Thanks, can you give me some detail on your setup. I am wanting to know what you are running to get to the 60' times you have. I am running 1.87 60' times. I would like to get these down to the 1.6s. I figure if I can do that the 1/4 times should get me into the 11's.

My car is also running rich, 11.9-12.0 so I need to work on that.

What tires are you running? 12 bolt? Stall (brand and speed)? Is your car fairly streetable the way it is setup?

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me.

depending on the Stall Turn Ratio (STR) of the converter you have and what you are going to will determine if you gain/lose initial torque. you most always gain torque on the low end and lose hp at the top. here's my dyno graph going from stock converter to the yank PY3400E

You'll gain RWHP/RWTQ if you go with a more efficient converter.

I think you can tune more out of it, especially with a 12.5-13.0:1 A/F.

A custom 3800 stall from TCS - now out of business - 2.85 STR, 5800 shift extension.

Fully set up suspension - skinnies up front, Hoosiers on back on 15"x 8" wheels ... no front sway bar, AGX adjustable shocks on the rear, adjustable tq ARM, 1" solid rear sway bar, PHR and LCAs.

It's not your set up that's hurting you ... that 2800 Vig is a good converter and with your power is easily capable of 1.6 60's ... you have the suspension ... it's your wheels and tires ... get a race only set up for the track, skinnies up front and a set of DOT slicks on the back.

Also how much does your sound system wiegh? As long as you have that you need to accept that it is holding you back.
