LS6 intake or Lingenfelter?

Which is better, the LS6 intake or the Lingenfelter? Either way I can get them both ported for free through a friend. Is one better than the other?

Well you really can't port a composite intake too well. As for the Lingenfelter :cough:Holley:cough: intake it will only prove beneficial if you are running big power and get it port matched. Otherwise its been proven to perform the same as the LS6 intake. Except in the area of heatsoak where it fails over the LS6. Most of the big guys are just using the stock LS6.

I think PACE sells them for 395. I went with the Lingenfelter intake because eventually I am going to do heads and I will have them port matched. I am going to reach 400 rwhp NA one way or another!

The lingenfelter intake will suffer from heat soak, which will make it almost mandatory that you take a bag of ice with you to the track in order to run your best times.

Since the LS6 intake is plastic, you won't have this problem.

Get the LS6 intake.

Well Id go with the ceramic LS6 unless you plan on running like 15 psi of boost in which case the ceramic intake would fly apart. As far as porting the ceramic LS6 everyone I heard who did that either saw no performance gain or a drop in performance, the LS6 is really one of the best intake manifolds ever made. So in conclusion lots of boost go with Lingenfelter(Holley), low or no boost go with ceramic LS6.

Thumbs up

no, it's made out of clay and fired in an oven. that's why you have to make sure to always close your hood gently..if you just slam it shut, the intake will shatter. what a mess.

they also have porcelain and fine china versions. I think tbyrne sells them. there's this one really pretty one with a portrait of a rising sun over a mountain lake fired in..it's beautifully detailed by hand, but I think it costs almost $5000. that's more of a collector's version that you don't install but just keep on the shelf.

lol

Can we get an unfired version so can we just wet sand it to port it? Anyone have a kiln?

Does the glazed version provide more airflow since its smoother?

hmmm questions questions... :P hahah
