ls2 oil pan

I have read that the ls2 has a improved dry sump oil pan, for the corvette, what about the gto? any improvements to keep for lack of oil on cornering?

Also does this propblem exist in the fbody ls1, if so, is there an upgrade in the ls1 fbody that can help with this?

Thanks

Not too sure if its a real problem or not on the LS1, but I think you can get a baffled oil pan to alleviate some concern about it. Not sure, but I think I have seen one somewhere.

Melling makes a High Volume pump for the LS1/2 engines. It has a larger inner gear and thus moves more oil, and it also has an stiffer spring in it to regulate the pump valve.

As for the dry sump, the LS7 in the new Z06 is a dry sump but not the LS2.

Re: ls2 oil pan

can you converet an ls1 to an ls2/ls7

can you convert and ls1 to a dry sump to prevent oil shortage in tight corners.

I'm sure someone has a dry sump kit, but all you really need are baffles or just run a quart extra when racing. Unless you are seriously into road racing, you'll never have that problem. Even then, I haven't notice any of the LS1 guys that race running dry sumps. Must not be an issue.
