Slight lope in idle on stock cammed car

Hey.. I have developed a slight lope at idle in my M6 2000 Z. I think I did it when I hacked off the extra junk from the EGR into the intake. Anyone know of a way to check to see if that is leaking with typical tools? Tricks to see if its leaking there?

Any other common sources of lope? My car is a low mile (39k) car thats been garaged its whole life and is virtually stock except for free mods, a lid and cutout.

Spray some starting fluid in the area. If idle increases thats you culprit.

You can use H2O also. If the idle smoothes out that would be your indicator.

Starting fluid?? Isn't that a bit risky?? Ignition...Hot manifolds and everything...I wouldn't mess w/ either.....JMO

I've heard brakeclean, but that and black plastic engine parts... I've stained my PS resevoir w/ aluminum cleaner. Cant get it off now...

Aren't they both really flammable and evaoprate quickly? I will try that, but will be careful in doing so...

Many many folks have done the EGR tube mod and had the O-ring fall out of place when installing, causing a vacuum leak. It's about a 2 second job to loosen the bolt and check it.
