LS1 Heads

Ok I am going to do heads and cam on my ls1 and I found some ones that I want, but the question I have is what is the bennifit of a bigger camber cc.

You would benefit from a bigger chamber only if you are supercharging or going with a turbo charger. Bigger chamber equalls lower compression ratio. Normally aspirated engines benefit from smaller chambers which raises the compression ratio.

You want to stay around a 58-62cc combustion chamber for an NA application on the stock bottom end.

If you have 93 octane available, I'd go with a 58-59cc head and Cometic .040". If you don't have 93, I'd go with around a 62cc head and an OEM head gasket.

Like it was said before:
The smaller the chamber, the higher the compression... and vice versa.

are you sure you're not seeing intake runner size and thinking chamber size?
