hi all,
i get this annoying knocking sound from my rear axle (i think), when i turn left.
doesn't happen when i turn right though.

any ideas ?

 

That's "normal". I had that problem with my '01 Z28 A4 and was told by the dealer that it was normal.

I contacted an engineer at Torsen and he told me that it was an unknown issue with their diff in the F-Body cars. They don't know why it does that in the F-Body cars, but it's the diff "floating" and is not causing any harm.

My '01 WS6 M6 doesn't have that problem.
