I know it sounds like a sales pitch, but it has to be heard in person to really know what we're so happy about. This is the exhaust for the F-body~~

The only thing that I don't like about my GMMG exhaust is the popping and crackeling I get once in a while. Does your's ever pop or crackle? And it also has a fairly loud drone from inside the car which I like, but I haven't heard of anyone elses GMMG exhaust having a loud drone. How can I get this popping and crackeling to stop? I do have a bad cat, so could that be the problem?

BTW, GMMG buys these exhaust systems from a guy who makes them in Ohio. He has a contract with GMMG and is only allowed to sell them to GMMG. They buy them for under $500.

I'm gonna check the vid, but I would get jet hots before I'd spend 650 on an exhaust.

Hey, its sleeperZ96BT, not sleepr94Z, lol. Those GMMG tips are awesome, all I know who have purchased them for $150 have loved them. They are really awesome.........Those Mecham ones are also very pricey from what I recall. Omega-where did you get your info on GMMG buying exhausts for under $500? As for GMMG using sweet thunder mufflers they absolutely do not ..........

lol sleeper94z Have you heard of anyone having the popping and crackeling sound with their GMMG exhaust? Its definitely not what I expected it to do. There has to be a problem there, because I doubt they would put an exhaust that pops and crackels and has a lot of interior drone in their ZL1's, Blackbirds, Bergers etc. About the $500 exhaust, I know a guy on kyfbodies.org who knows the guy in Ohio that makes the exhaust for GMMG. And you're right, they're not sweet thunders. I've got to get rid of this d@mn popping and crackeling though! Its driving me nuts!!! Any suggestions on what it could be from? Thanks

Like you said, if you have a bad cat it may be the cause. Try getting that fixed and see if it helps. FWIW, mine pops and crackles a little bit, I love it and so does everyone else! Maybe yours doesn't sound good due to the bad cat, but mine is a deep, rumbly type noise.

bad cat might cause it but most likly the poping is from a rich condition. The drone is a easy fix Buy some dynomat and do the hatch area. Take the carpet out and cover the whole area. That hatch area acks like a chamber

Its actually not popping and crackeling as bad now! People that own the GMMG exhaust have told me it depends on how you drive. The GMMG will pop and crackel once in a while, and that I will get used to it. As for the drone, I like it (dad doesn't though ) I think police like it to, because those that I pass always look over

He also has 4.10 gears, so I know he will get me off the line, but 360hp? I almost laughed, but kept cool and respected his word. What does a stock 98 Cobra put down? I said I would race him on the highway sometime and he was cool with that. What do you guys think? Will I rape him? Or should it be pretty close? Can't wait to find out
Do a 60mph rolling start with him and drop it down into 2nd(rev match at about 4300rpms) and you'll absolutely rape him well over 100. Just don't miss a shift.

BTW, the GMMG system that I have on my '02 M6 Z28 rarely pops and crackles and has ***NO*** drone whatsoever. This same system didn't drone on my old '00 A4 Z28 either. You definitely hear it inside the car, but it doesn't create annoying interior noise or anything. Not even close to the SLP Dronemouth I had on that 2000 either. Now that was some serious drone.

GMMG is just sweet V8 rumble on the LS1(and you don't get this sound with most other systems IMO)...

Ok, I am definitely a fan of GMMG! It is the most refined exhaust I have heard on the LS1 for sure simply the same for the LT1 just the engines produce different sounds. The quality is damn good all around. I have the GMMG system with the oval tips, best set-up ever. Recently added to the bada$$ sound with the install of FLP long tube headers. I wish I could get a sound clip to perfect quality.

Anyone looking into exhausts, eat the money and buy GMMG!!

you can fabricate your own "GMMG chambered exhaust" by buying two chambered mufflers from:

http://www.sweet-thunder.com/chambered.htm#stainless

...just take them to your local muffler shop and have them customize some tubing to fit...

Save yourself hundreds...

I thought about that before I bought the GMMG. But it won't sound the same, won't look nearly as good,it won't have a lifetime warranty and I doubt it will be all stainless steel. BTW, the guy who makes the GMMG exhaust doesn't use Sweet Thunder chambered mufflers. I've heard a few exhaust clips of custom GMMG style exhausts, and they sound pretty good. But nothing like a real GMMG It was worth it for $650 shipped to my door.

Still not sure that $700 shipped...and thats without the tips...is a fair price or an exhaust system...

Yea GMMG may sound a bit better, but just pick up a Magnaflow stainless steel 3" cat-back for $300 shipped...use the other $400 somewhere else...or other $550 if you get the tips...
