just curious how many here use there LS1 as daily drivers?
Stock alarm, but I use "the club" religiously.
Drive it about 20 miles a day for work. But I live in Phoenix, so there is no snow and it rains roughly every 3 months. Yes, I'm serious, every 3 months.

Since my 92 'Bird is the only car I have here in D.C. it's obviously my daily driver. My TA is back in South Dakota (home) and I drive that whenever I go home on leave (2 or 3 times a year) In that week and a half I'm home I put at least 1000 miles on the TA. That's mostly city miles too
Talk about a lot of cruisin

Bought the SS used in July of ' 01 w/ 24K on the clock.
Several road trips later, plus a 40 mile R.T. most work days now equals 46,700 or so on the ol' milemeter.
I drive the Suburban when it is supposed to be really heavy rain - like possible flood conditions - or when I need to haul stuff to & from work.
Well, other than haulin' AZZ !
Oh, I think Ken S has it right about an alarm not stopping anyone really determined ...

not really
I actually prefer my 88 X28 IROC over my 01 Z28 for DD'ing. The O1 is a nice car but the 88 can do everything it can and I don't have to worry about it. I suspect the 01 isn't as robust in the long term also.

I guess Im the only one so far that has a different alarm
Mine is a daily driver, albeit not many miles at all, I work close to home - 2 years old ~7,200 miles - i consider it brand new.
Anyways, I have the stock alarm in now, but have been installing a new one little by little the past month or so. I bought the Crimestopper CS-2015FM - it was about $300 - it comes with a transceiver - meaning the paging unit is in the remote transmitter - so you dont need two separate units. Of course I'm "adding" to the system my own little things, but it will have remote start and the car will be heard from miles around if anyone "breaks the seal."

Stock alarm, daily driver, convertible in Chicago even in the winter. 19,000 miles on the clock. I purchased it May '02. The car has been to and from Detroit 4 times, to and from Memphis 4 times. A beater is definately on my next investment list.
