My insurance is actually less since I have a beater on the policy.

My Z isnt my daily driver, but I still put over 15k on it in the first year I had it. Factory alarm is good enough for me.

Every day. about 40 miles round trip. Stock alarm. A lady at work had her car broken into yesterday. Desperately in search of a beater.

Mine is a DD, about 15 miles round trip for work.
I kinda feel bad because I still have my first set of wheels, 78 chevy pickup. I spent just about all of high school, and a few years of collage fixing it up. now its like a redhead step child. I think I put about 50 miles on it sence I got the Z last July.
It wouldnt kill me to drive it to work 1 or 2 times a week. starting next week

I wouldn't see a reason to not drive it every day, so I am a daily driver.

O i do about an average 15 miles a day. Love every second of it.

My Z is a daily driver since I bought it new To work from work to the gym and home. About a 30 mile round trip. On occasion I take a nine hour trip to Sacramento.
The car is holding up very well, no major problems ( replaced battery, driving lights burned out, some tuning issues). I only have the factory alarm system.

I plan on getting a new daily driver economy car next year. At which point the Z will become my high performance toy

Question

TurboGSR98, who do you have insurance with? I'm with State Farm, and when I added my husband's truck to my policy, I only got a $30 discount (total, not monthly!)
Sorry, I know I'm getting away from the subject.....

pseudo daily driver here.
Use the Z to go to work 20 miles r.t. a day and use our 00 Cavalier for all other errands. Car pretty much sits under a cover all weekend and weeknights
(I know its a crime but the wife insists on taking her car when we go out, then again what the hell, that more mileage on her car)

Yeah, I drive my truck to work mostly but I do try to change up with the Z28 occassionally (especially when the weather is real nice). Yes, I would rather drive my Z every day but I worry about it too much. I work at the Pentagon and the parking spaces are too narrow and the traffic sucks anyway so... my truck is my beater. But ssvegas, I agree with you- I often come accross other Z's or SS's and I wish I could say, "Hey, I got a Z at home. This is only my beater!". Oh well, whadya gonna do.

BTW, how come when you see other fbodies it just makes you want to play?

Well....it originally wasn't going to be my daily driver but it's just way too much fun to drive to leave it parked!!!I use it for work and pleasure and my 84 Camaro ends up being the one that sits, but still that's only about 600 miles a month I'm putting on her.

99 Z28 is my one and only daily driver

Occasionally, I drive/ride in my gf's tracker.. but 90% of the time we're in my car.

Its never seen snow.. I've advoided driving it in the snow so far.. It doesn't snow much over here.. in fact it didn't snow at all this winter. It sees plently of raining days though.

At night its in my garage.. During the day it sits on the far side of parking lots..

If I can keep advoid tickets by 2004 Sept, I my insurance shuold plummet.

Edit: stock alarm.. i try parking in "safe places".. my favorite place in the city is the same parking garage where the cops keep their fleet of cars.

If someone is going to screw around with the car, I doubt any alarm is going to stop them...

Daily driver 30 miles round trip to school and back, and that is not counting weekends. And for winter time she is still out and she still has her stock alarm system
