I have a 98 z28 6spd idling at 1100. I only had the car 2 weeks. What vacuums should I check? Or is there something else I need to be aware of?

 

That's definitely too high unless it only does that when you first fire it off in the morning. If it's happening when it's warmed up then there's a problem. Check the throttle cable for binding and listen for vaccuum leaks etc.

 

I have a 98 Z which also idels around 1000-1100 i just thought it was normal for the Ls1. What is the normal idling rpm

 

Mine is around 1000-1100 when I first crank it.. but after warming up it stays around 800 or so.
