it COULD....

some guys lose hp and others don't

it really depends on other mods. from what i've read it is best on a BONE stock car

you would probably get use from it since yours is an auto so you can adjust the shifts and associated things

Without 93 octane, the tune that the hpp3 gives you is useless.

I used one for gears, fans, shift points, shift firmness, etc. Worked great, never tried their tune though. Frisco - you can get a used one cheap - I just sold mine for $130 - you can get one, try it, if your car doesn't like it you can return it to stock and re-sell it. Do you have RFG gas out there? If I remember correctly it has a different tune for RFG.

Worked fine for me. But the power is in the upper midrange and I dont shift much past 3000 rpm so I went back to stock tuning. I still use it for fans and tires size. If I had the spare change Id have gotten a Predator tho

Unfortunately 91 octane wont cut it for the HPP3 tune. The HPP3 tune was meant to be used with 93, and if you try to use it with 91 it can ping, and then the computer will pull timing which equals into lost power. Now, I'm not saying that if you use 91 that it is guaranteed to happen, but it has and it will to some. For the same amount of money you can have somebody do a real tune specifically for your car using LS1 Edit and have much better results and much more power.

Their web site reflects that, and I called Hypertech and asked if 91 was risky to use. They didn't say "no", but didn't say "yes" either. Basically use at your ouw risk....The Tech I talked to did say they were working on that issue and might come up with programming for us poor bastards that can only get 91 at the pump. Soooo, it looks like I'll be taking that portion of the programming off my car.

Get the predator, I got it and I like it. You can tune your a/f ratio yourself with it if you don't like the stock tune and it has everything hypertech has but more.
