How much oil and what weight for my 98 LS1?

Been running 5w30 mobile 1 with ac delco filters.
no loss at least not any noticeable loss after 4K -8K miles.
After an oil change I take the old oil and dump it into the 5qt containter and then always have to put the rest in my spillover spare 5qt container.
I use 6qts everytime.
I am currently at 103K miles
