Cool

I've heard 20-25 RWHP with the MAC's and off-road pipe. They're what I plan on going with when I get some more $$$ for mods.
Kevin

Edit:I've heard that the MAC cats suck. You can have a custom Y-pipe made for around $200 with better cats though.

20-25 rwhp out of a Y-pipe and high flow cats?? sounds like you could work for SLP, aka, the masters of optimism. imo, high flow cats are a waste of valuable money, so just with an off road Y,X,or H pipe. you *MAY* see 5-7rwhp at the most.

Uhhh ... you want to go back and re-read the post ... They're talking about getting the Y-pipe with the headers.

Headers and Y-pipe can give you gains in the 20 range, but not with cats. You'll have to go ORP Y-pipe to see those gains. You should expect gains in the 10-15 range on a stock motor with cats.

But I do agree that a y-pipe in and of it self isn't worth it. I'd wait until your going to do headers and do the Y-pipe then.

As for the MAC cats. They don't neccesarily suck, they are about the same as stock. And for that matter all cats are a flow restriction.

Go sans cats for maximum gain and either buy headers with swapable a cats/race pipe set up or have one custom fabricated.

Good Luck

Hey,V6toZ28,how do you like that stall you have listed?I'm looking at the Yanks for my car and their page says I should go with the ST3500 but I think that may be a bit much. How much did your 3200 help? Thanks.
Kevin

PS
Yes,I was talking about headers and a y-pipe.As far as just a y-pipe goes,I would wait.If you are just really, really wanting one then I think it's cheaper to have one made at a local muffler shop than buying one and having it shipped.Good luck.
