Hi, new and have a question

Hi i'm kinda new to this board I just sold my Roush Mustang and picked up my 01 SOM SS today (first chevy). Well the first thing I want to change is the catback. I am leaning toward a GMMG the reason being is that I plan on doing lts pretty soon also and don't want it to be extremely loud. Is that a fair assumtion to make about the GMMG. A couple of my friends have the loudmouth but it honestly makes the ls1 sound like a boat. I want somthing with a little more cleaner sound. Will the GMMG get me this. Thanks for your help.

Congrats on the car. SOM is one of my fav colors. As far as exhaust, IMO GMMG is the best sounding on ls1's. It is loud though, and with headers it will only become louder. If you're going for a quite sound, i would go with magnaflow, its not too loud stock, and sounds awesome with lts. I have not heard loudmouth with lts, but i would assume it would be raspy as hell.

i've never heard the gmmg...but my magnaflow sounds awesome. and i've got offroad pipes so it's pretty loud.

and for half the price of the gmmg...tough to beat.

just my $.02

Go with the GMMG. I have yet to hear it in-person but I can't believe that all the people (which is a lot) who say it's the best sounding exhaust are wrong. If the GMMG came with "nicer" tips (I just don't like them), I would've chose it over the Corsa.

yeah thats one reason that i'm leaning toward gmmg is that so many people are happy with their system. Oh where can I buy it, do i have to get it from gmmg or are there other sellers.

Hmm i think i'm starting to be turned to magnaflow. Now does it have a raspy sound or drone with lts or at a centain rpm? Also I hear its pretty quiet until you get on it. Its also all stainless, correct?

You can try looking in the For Sale section but the best way is to get in on a GP.

BTW, Welcome.
