GMMG sounds badass on my car. I love it.

i dont know about you guys but if this is a daily driver i would think gmmg would drive you nuts. dont get me wrong, its a great system but im old also plus i dont want to attract too much attention from the law. i love my american thunder system and flowtech headers. great sound for daily drive and when i get on it, they know theres an 8 under the hood.

ya i know. second childhood, midlife crisis, whatever...

haha, drive with no exhaust for a little bit (did while waiting for my new exhaust to arrive since it shipped late)
then you'll find out what'll drive you nuts

Cool Re: Flowmaster or Borla Exhaust for an '02 Z28?

I know I have a lot of choices, Like someone said I can probably get headers and a catback exhaust, for less than a GMMG. I am going to do my "homework" and find out what is best for my DAILY DRIVER. I do want something that sounds loud/deep, but I dont know if I will get tired of it.
Thanks for all of your input, guys.

Wait a minute to get a "muscle car sound" first muscle cars sound different from each other to a point second to avoid rasp you don't have to have cats what did they do before them? to sound like a muscle car it has to have cats? I would think to sound like a real muscle car you shouldnt have cats and probably have a raspy sound?? Just my thinking so don't yell at me!!

vonmoldy,
My 70 SS had no rasp. It ran Hooker Comp headers - 2.5" duals w/H-pipe and Dynomax Ultraflow welded mufflers. I also ran turbo mufflers on it when I first got it too. Again, no rasp.
Many things (headers, pipe diameter, mufflers, cam, etc) effect the exhaust tone.

Glad ya got something that you like.

I feel just the opposite about the GMMG. It sounds generic to me, and it's ugly as sin. Looks like it got pelted by hail.

Why not fabricate your own "true duals" system? Cheaper, and one of a kind appeal.
