But the specs he's using are the advertised specs. Which are the general target specs for the production cam.
The ones you're quoting are actuall measured specs of 1 cam. Well we all know that there is a range of acceptable sizes from the factory. That's why there are differences in how the cars run. Some are extra hot, most are average, and some are extra slow.

I got those # from this board.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hlight=ls1+cam

And from the LS1.com board

http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...=ls1+cam+specs

this thread shows the Corvette LS1 cam to be near what you have indicated.

http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...=ls1+cam+specs

These numbers from LS1.com also

Stock cam information for the different years:

F-bodies
98-00s had a 202/210 Dur @ .050, .496/.496 lift , 116 LSA or pretty close to those specs.
01-02s had a 198/197 Dur @ .050, .478/.478 lift, 115 LSA.

http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...=ls1+cam+specs

All pretty consistent with what I originally posted.
The joys of "search".

Hope this helps

I don't know if this is an accurate source or not, but I was just looking at SLP's page for 1.85:1 roller rockers, and they list the various cam lifts after installing the 1.85's, so I did the math to go back to stock:

'98 - '00:

.544" X 1.7 / 1.85 = .49989" (<-- round it to .500"? )

'01 - '02:

.521" X 1.7 / 1.85 = .47876" (<-- call it .479")

But who knows if they're being 100% specific about that, or if they're estimating/generalizing!?

As far as I know 97-00 C5 and 98-00 F-body had the same cam specs as well as the 01-02 C5's and F-body's.

Oh yeah, those cam specs I listed were ones from a guy who sent those stock cams in to comp cams and had them measured so I'm pretty sure they are accurate.

I went with a Comp 224/228 with a 581/589 lift 112 LSA I had to have a lot of PCM tunning. On the other hand my friend went with a bigger cam(more duration) and a 114 LSA and no tunning and his car drives fine I made about 45-48RWHP and40RWTQ from the cam. If I do it again I will go with a 114LSA!
