Re: Cam and rocker arm?

not everyone wants a cam. or a cam that big for their everyday driver.

Re: Cam and rocker arm?

But if your running longer rockers you're creating the same effect and stresses as a little larger cam so whats the diff?

idle, driveability, emissions passing, sound (some want stock sound), not having to tune. there's five.

Again, you can do the same with a cam.
The CheaTR come to mind.

Re: Cam and rocker arm?

And thats fine if they want to spend more money for less power.

The fact is, rockers will do nothing a cam can't.
Even all 5 of your reasons for getting not getting a cam. The LPE GT2-3 fills all those requirements plus will give you more power than rockers.

And as I said, having to change springs makes the "simple bolt on" concept null and void since most simple bolt on type mechanics aren't going to have the tools.

Now if they were priced like earlier engine rockers, then yes they would be worth the $.

Re: Cam and rocker arm?

again, i agree with you. a cam is the way to go cost/hp wise. but, for those that do not want to do a cam, it is a viable alternative. to say they are a waste would be an incorrect statement. because you do gain power. so, it's not a waste. if your only thought is cost, then it might be. depends on the customer.
