Cam/heads question

I have decided to swap out the old LT1 to an LS1 but I wanna add a few tricks to it before I put it in. I was thinkin about a good heads/cam package w/ some long tubes and a CAI to start off with....however, I need some recommendations for what cam and who to do the heads for me. I don't want to go completely mild...I am lookin more at middle of the road stuff.

Also, with the mods listed, what kind of power am I lookin at when she is all done? Thanks for the help, Jason

A heads/cam LS1 makes over 400 rwhp. If you add the mods you listed, a 224/224 .581/.581 (a 230 duration cam wouldnt be bad either) cam and some stage II heads, you can make 400+ rwhp EASY. The bigger the cam you get, the more power your going to make. Make sure if you do a heads/cam you get a LS6 intake or better so the cam can breath in a little better.

Wit the cam you suggested....will I have to replace the valve springs b/c of the lift? Also, does an LS1 come stock w/ roller rockers or rocker arms? ... I know I am asking stupid/basic questions, but I am new to the LS1's..THanks

You should get new springs regardless what cam you get. I, personally, would get dual springs if you are starting to get close to .600 lift, .581 lift being close enough. You can get a whole cam kit from the many sponsors of the site. I just bought mine from Thunder Racing and paid like $740 for a cam. springs (not dual springs cuz my cam is a 224/224 .561) pushrods, titanium retainers and all the gaskets needed. You can get it a little cheaper through Combination Motorsports, but you'd have to call em to find out what all comes with it.
