bellows...form or function?
i've been researching info for my upcoming LS1 purchase...read most of the last 30 pages of posts...
i know what the bellows are, but do they actually serve a purpose other than looks? do they really pick up some hp by smoothing out the incoming air?
i have read of the problems with breaking lids in some cases with the solid "fernco" thing...so if i get something it will be the SLP style smooth bellow...
any info you guys have would be appreciated
thanks

I got the SLP smooth bellows kit about 2 years ago. I think they changed the design to a more angled one, providing easier movement of the lid and stuff. I got it for $50. I couldn't feel a difference, but it probably gives 1-3 hp. Every little bit helps, especially when your'e on a tight buget.
