bellows...form or function?

i've been researching info for my upcoming LS1 purchase...read most of the last 30 pages of posts...

i know what the bellows are, but do they actually serve a purpose other than looks? do they really pick up some hp by smoothing out the incoming air?

i have read of the problems with breaking lids in some cases with the solid "fernco" thing...so if i get something it will be the SLP style smooth bellow...

any info you guys have would be appreciated
thanks

thanks...that's a good price...

but it doesnt answer my question as to whether there is anything to gain from this mod hp wise?

Very few, if any. But every little bit helps, right? ;)

I got the SLP smooth bellows kit about 2 years ago. I think they changed the design to a more angled one, providing easier movement of the lid and stuff. I got it for $50. I couldn't feel a difference, but it probably gives 1-3 hp. Every little bit helps, especially when your'e on a tight buget.

Mostly form with a little bit of function:D
I still don't have one.
