5.3 swap q's

Hey guys im a long time site stalker newb poster.

Im going to b installing a 5.3 truck engine/4L60E tranny in a 1983 Camaro and i have a bunch of questions.

1. What if any stock manifolds will clear

2. How do you rig up your fuel pump? Is there a way to make it work with the stock pickup or is it just better to run an inline? Also does anyone have a part # for the vett fuel filter with built in regulator?

3. Can you keep the cruise control?

4. What did you do about your speedo? The converters are very $$$$

5. Does the factory Cross Mem. have to be moved to bolt the tranny down?

6. Do i need to grab the drive shaft out of the truck or will the 700r4 yolk fit?

7. With the truck intake will it clear a factory hood?

8. What oil pan did you use?

9. Where is a good place (and cheap) to get the puter flashed to remove the VAT

10. Does the computer need to be re prog. to change out the truck intake with a car intake, rails, and inj.?

11. Will my stall in my 700r4 work in the 4l60e? Also i dont remember if it is a lock up or not, will it hurt anything if the tranny tries to lock and it's not ment to lock?

12. How did you do your power steering? I have seen people make brackets to bolt the old style to the 5.3, but what do you do about the pully? Can you by a ribed pully?

5.3 swap

I am planning the same project but on a 69.
I have been told to use a LS1 or LS6 intake. The truck intake will clear but looks crappy.

go here for a great write-up.
