um...the ones from a 5.3L engine...not sure what you mean.
but typically they are ported and (i think) usually get larger valves.
the ported heads work well on any cam. if they flow near 300cfm at .600" lift...you should gain 30-50hp on most bigger cams.

Better options out there. The 5.3L heads sport a smaller combustion chamber, much like the LS6 heads, but don't flow nearly as well.
I think for the money, the Dart 205 or 225cc heads are the best one out right now.

What I meant buy what 5.3 heads is what year range of the truck head..i'm just looking at all my options and was wondering what i could get out of what, I will probably buy a head and cam package, if anyone has any recommendations i'm all ears, thanks guys..

some options...
what are you goals? budget? emissions?
you could go with the expensive AFR heads or somethiing really budget like some ported LS6s (someone has them for about $1000).
and a cam could be anything from a mild 224 that would pass emissions, up to the nasty TRex, TRak from thunder or the F14 or F15 from futral (yes kraest we know your suggestion
)
these combos would range from 400rwhp up to nearly 450rwhp.
