43rwhp from sheetmetal intake

wow...this is impressive

"43RWHP over a ported Holley intake that flowed 10% over a LS6 manifold"

to heck with the lsx intake...if you guys are running serious engines...this would be the way to go...

maybe I dont understand or maybe I dont see what makes it impressive..

What I do see is:
1 stock LS6 head on a modified motor
1 custom fabricated intake on a modified motor
The custom fabricated intake does 10% more than stock(?) LS6 intake.. 10%? how much is that really? 5rwhp? If that much?

So what I am saying is, how much power would a ported LS6 intake make? If you are going through all the trouble with a "from scratch" intake, wouldnt you just get your LS6 intake ported? Is that even possible?

I dont know so please explain..

that was a bit confusing...

if i read what you are saying psycho, i thnk you missunderstood.

here is how i read it:

(now i realize this was on a huge 427ci motor)

they had a ported holly manifold which flowed 10% over the LS6 manifold, this alone should give impressive numbers.

going from the ported holley to the custom manifold they gained ANOTHER 43hp!!

granted it's $2000 or so (exact price not known yet), but figure it could probably pull close to 50hp over a base LS1 or LS6 manifold on a big CI motor!!!
that's impressive to me

basically i see it as this:
guys running 396 or bigger engines, WITH an LS6/holley iintake manifold could gain 40-50hp from this manifold.

he says they didn't see any gains on a stock displacement (but no losses either), but they are working on one for 346ci H/C motors...still in the R&D stages

i'm pretty sure you can't port an ls6 intake.

...but you can port the holley manifold.

have there been tests of the new FAST intake on a big CI motor and what gains it can get?

"Sheet metal intake manifold"....................yeah those words scream "I can't wait to put this crap on my car!"

I'm not trying to dis it or anything, just that the name makes it sound really cheap and pathetic. Sheet metal is not the words I would use to describe such a beefy intake.
