I had a 70 SS that I sold and got my 00 SS. I miss the ease of working on and the inexpensive parts of the 70. The broad power band, reliability, fuel efficiency, handling, braking etc of my 00 SS more than make up for it.

Find a local meet and have someone take you for a spin if you can't find one to test drive..

I'm guessing you have a 396 big block (based on the first post); but a 650dp would be stupid small for a cammed 396. A 750 would be a bare minimum and I would go with the dominator carbs... 396 running rich with a 650dp? Something doesn't make sense here. Even so jet changes should solve the rich problem not "going through carbs".

LS1 Camaros will eat all 1st Gens alive. There is absolutely no comparison.

People bring up the 302Zs, but do the "similar" mods to an LS1 and it will eat those old 302s for lunch.

heres my two. someday im going to smash them together head on and see what comes up. acatualy id love to put the ls1 in the 73 but i belive it would devalue the 73 too much . you need a bace model to hack up not a matching #s z28 or any big block 69 ss

Nice 73'!!! Those cars with some larger wheels and a slight drop look amazing! Although, being numbers matching i'd be afraid of doing it as well.
