2001 SS Oil pressure

I just bought a 01 ss 6-speed
and when i rev it, the oil pressure shoots up
is that normal?

What do you mean by shoots up? Oil pressure should increase with rpms.

its at 40 at idle and when i tach it out it goes up to 70-75

Yes the oil pump is driven by the motor, so it'll speed up with the rpm which will mean more pressure.

40 psi at idle is normal, and 70-75psi at WOT is also normal.
