Brand New 383 Problem

We just got my 383 started up for the first time. We let the car run for 20 min's at idle. Car ran rich but good, that was just with the start up tune on the computer. Went to go start it up a week later, for the second time, car only runs on the passenger side cylinders. We have spark and fuel. The car back fires like crazy when started. Checked grounds and everything like that. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I've also heard that the coil pack's are numbered? Is that true? I have never heard of that before. I dont mean to sound like a idiot but, ??? We can' figure it out! The motor was proffesionally built. Once again, the car ran the first time we tried starting it, now it wont idle and it back fires the second you start turning the motor over! We have 58lbs of fuel pressure! Any help at all?

The coil packs aren't numbered, but switching the coil pack rails from side to side will cause problems. But if it started and ran OK on the initial startup, that isn't your problem.

You say you have fuel and spark present on all cylinders right? When you say "fuel", are you just checking fuel pressure or did you verify that the injectors are actually working?

ALL grounds are OK? You double and triple checked? Any DTC's? Do you have a scanner that is capable of monitoring both the cam and crank sensor?

I am 100% positive that the injectors are working. I do have a buddy that is a mechanic and has a computer than can monitor the motor. This whole thing is just blowing my mind! I actually called wheel to wheel performance today, they are one of the best LS1 tuners in the nation in Detroit, Michigan, and it boggled their mind? Just really pi$$ing me off!

The only time that I ever experienced a problem like that was when we missed the 3rd ground on the back of the DS head.

how's the head gasket on that side? Pull all those plugs too...

Maybe the pistons on the passenger side fell out...
