1, 2, 3, Drive?

Just bought an 00' TA....the shifter has 1 2 3 and then D = does that mean, 3 is drive and D is overdrive? In the old Z28 - it had 1 2 D and OD???

When you are driving down the rode running someone from about 60 should you drop it in 3rd or leave it in d?

well, its a general concensus that manually downshifting an auto is not good. however, going from od to d im pretty sure isnt a big deal unless youre at high speeds. lots of auto guys (including myself) leave it in d or 3 while doing our city driving; you have better throttle response and you dont have the tranny shifting as much in and out of od.

Hmmmm, ya learn something everyday. I didn't know Camaro's and T/A's differed in that way. Like my SS has 1,2,D,OD. Interesting!!

What are the MPH's for each gear? Are they the same as the LT1 setup of GU5?

The reason I ask, is becuz when I had it in the 3 and nailed it from 70 - I got to 90 pretty quick, but when it hit 5.5K rpm, I started hitting the rev limiter.

you should not be hitting the limiter at 5500. if you have an ls1, your limiter is (or should) set at 6200. you need to have that checked out.

I'll double check it tonight and see where everything is hitting.
