02 sensor/header question

I have an electric cut-out on stock exhaust now. I want to go to long tube headers and would like to put an electric cut-out between each header and cat. I understand the bung for the front 02 sensor is in the header, and the other sensor is after the cat and the computer "looks" for a difference between the two. Doesn't it seem likely then, that opening the cutout would cause an 02 code fault? I know that sims could take care of this but I would rather be closer to the intent if not the letter of the law. Ideas? By the way, I have been to two muffler shops and both will only do work from the cats back since headers and cutouts move the cats from their stock placement. I didn't ask but I'm hoping that I can bring them the cut-out and have them flare the ends and put a header flange on both ends so that I can just bolt them on and then they can do the rest.
