Question Wynn's Trans. Flush

Have any of you heard of the Wynn's Performance Trans. Flush System?

A year ago, I went to my mech. for a trans. flush and he hooked this machine up to my trans. line and flushed a filled the system with this machine.

I asked him if he was going to change the filter and he assured me that it'll be fine and wasn't needed. Before this, I would always have the trans. drained from underneath the car and a new filter installed. I'm due for another trans. flush pretty soon and I'm skeptical about not having a new filter in there.

My question is: What if someone's filter was incredibly dirty and they'll get this type of trans. flush from now on? Will that filter that's going to stay inside the pan alter the performance of the trans. at all?

What actully happens with the machine is it blows out the filter with the fluid going through it. When the fluid is cycling through it breaks up most of the things in it and they get taken out with the old fluid. I would change the filter every other time just to be sure and to get the metal shavings off of the magnet in the pan, then I would bring it to have the machine flush it since it gets over 90% of the old stuff out. Just taking down the pan gets out a few quarts, it doesn't get whats in the converter, but the machine does.

I had one of those at a shop I used to work at.
I would change the filter before they flushed it.
I wonder if you could make a Trans Flush System?

He pretty much hit the nail on the head. Im a transmission guy. Been doing this for 8 years and im building now. You want to change the filter every other time. My preferred method would be flush through the dirty filter first, then drop the pan, save the fluid, change the gasket and filter and refill. Next time just flush it, no filter. Just remember, never flush a malfunctioning trans. unless you want to buy a new trans. real soon. 99% of the time it will not fix malfunctioning transmissions.

It could not be to hard to do.?
There is just a pump in there.
blown94 Can you tell me if it could be done?
Transmissions are the only part of a car I won't work on.
I have a friend that has his own transmission shop.
He is the only one I let mess with my transmission.
But he does not have a Flush System.
I would like to do that my self.
Thanks,

Re: Wynn's Trans. Flush

Actually, the one I used didnt even have a pump, it worked off the transmissions pump itself, therefore no chance of some imbecile hooking it up wrong or having the pressure so high that it blows out seals in your tranny, which I have seen happen a few times now. I wont mention any names, but it might have been a *cough cough* Firestone. So far this un-named shop (lol) has sent us 2 jobs that they've managed to f*ck up. So beware who you let touch your tranny folks, they're expensive to replace.
As for building your own trans flush machine, depends how mechanically inclined you are. I could probably lead the right person in the right direction as to how to go about building this simple machine, but you gotta have a good mechanical aptitude and a little hydraulic knowledge would help. As far as getting the parts yer on yer own because I dont know who makes the type of stuff you will need.
