I'm trying to figure out how to use my console in my 96' m6, and when I put on my ws6 short stick, It hits the plastic cover in 246, and sometimes makes the shifter pop out in those gears, So right now I don't have a console cover or shifter boot on. I tryed loosening the shifter, and then pushing it forward, and then tightening it up, but that didn't work. Any Ideas? I'm stuck, I want to clean look, but it isn't working. Is my only option to use the stock shifter?

 

I don't know how thats even possible, is your console in the correct spot and bolted down? What shifter are you using?

 

you may have to take it out and put a slight forward bend in it. I have made a few of these sticks and some have to be modified to fit in some cars , its not a big deal just put in a vise and give a hit with a deadblow hammer(weighted plastic) about a 1/4 inch of deflection should do the trick.
