Window Track?
My son rolled his window down when it was frozen and broke all 4 rivets on the motor and I had to pull the whole thing to fix it. The glass is riveted on by 3 rivets and has 3 plastic connectors that holds the glass in place. The rail connects to the glass and has a long area where the wheel slides back and forth as the glass goes up and down. There is a wheel on the glass/bracket that is fixed and allows the glass to go up and down. This is the most complicated door glass and I have done over 500 different ones and it took me over an hour and this is my second time. Not a good idea for an amature but someone with good mechanical skills should do fine. The hardest part is drilling out the rivets with the wrong tools and I didn't have the correct ones at the time. I had to take the glass and all the internals because of the broken rivets so it made mine a lot harder to do.
I would start by removing the inner door panel and finding out what has actually failed. How do you know it's the track??
You don't have to "remove" the glass to do a motor/regulator or tracks, just reposition it.

The door panel has a few screws that hold it and then you lift the panel up to remove. Most doors have clips that you pop to get it off but this has to be raised straight up and then off. I would spray some white lithium grease on all the movable parts to keep them running smooth. This is one of the biggest door and glass combos so I think thats why it so complicated and the motors go out so much plus there is no upper channel for the glass to use.
