good question, but I have no idea

and yes, a V8 shaft is a direct bolt in for you, and a better shaft, look for a aluminum one, they seem to go for around $100-$150 0n here, though you could probably find a steel one for next to nothing

I read once that the V6 used a 2-piece driveshaft to prevent driveline harmonics, based on the inherent imbalance of the firing sequence in a V6 engine.

Thats what I have heard as well. You can swap in a V8 driveshaft with no problem. People usually sell the steel ones for around 10-20 bucks alot of times. You can always go with an aluminum LS1 driveshaft as well but people are usually asking for 125-150 bucks for one of those.

Is there room on the V6 installs for the damper ring that comes on the front of the V8 driveshafts? Again, something stuck way back in my memory from years ago when someone was putting the V8 shaft in a V6.

So, does this apply to the 3.4's as well, since those are inherently balanced 60 degree v6's, compared to the 3.8L?

My camaro has a 1 piece drive shaft, I think they discontinued the 2 piece unit in 97 (I could be very wrong)

The question from me is why didnt they only use aluminum for all the cars?
