Vents stopped blowing..

Weird problem. The other day the vents in my car stopped blowing. I can put it on full, and turn it to the top vents, and nothing comes out. I can hear the air blowing, but nothing is coming out. If I turn it on max AC, it gets cool, but the air comes out of the floor vents.

The windshield vent works, and the floor vents work, but no upper vents.

I pulled the HVAC fuse and that's fine. Any other ideas?

Thanks!!

This will start you in the right direction. From what I have read around here, when this part goes, the HVAC system defaults to blowing out of the top and bottom vents. Please do a search and confirm.

Mine did the same thing, the spagetti line on the HVAC check valve cracked so I just cut pulled it out cut the line past the crack and stuck it back in.

Which component are you referring to? The check valve? I am having that problem right now where the hvac setting is stuck on default (blowing through top/bottom only).

Is the check valve a dealer item or would any parts store (autozone, murrays, etc) have it?

Good luck trying to have to monkeys at the parts desk know what a 3 way vacuum T is. Atleast the one's at the local Chevy dealership (***) can't seem to find any part without explicit help. I used RTV to cover the crack/hole in mine, has worked great for 2+ years.

Re: Vents stopped blowing..

Luckily that didnt turn out to be the problem. The line from the intake to the check valve was partially melted somehow and closed up enough so no vacuum even got to the check valve.
