Uneven stance

Hello all,

Does anyone have the same issue with their camaro's where the stance is not even? I have a 99 Camaro SS where the passenger side is about 3/8 of an inch lower than the driver side? The difference is the same in front or back. The difference was slightly greater when I had stock springs and shocks. I've just recently put on Bilstein shocks from SLP and Eibach Pro-Kit springs all the way around. The car has never been in an accident and as I as I can see everything looks good. I even had some mechanics in a local shop look around and they didn't see any issues that would cause it to be off. I just wanted to know if it was very unsual to have this problem or if someone else has the same issues.

Thanks for any and all replies.

Re: Uneven stance

Are you parked on an even surface when you're looking at it? Sometimes in my spot in my driveway, if I park too far to one side there's a bit of a dip in the asphalt and it'll look like the stance is uneven.

Re: Uneven stance

Good thought but I've checked the stance on the driveway, inside the garage and in different parking lots and it's still off. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Uneven stance

This must have been asked a hundred times now. It's NORMAL, NORMAL, NORMAL!!! OK, rant off.
Chevrolets have been this way for probably at least 40 yrs. Walk around the parking lot and take a look. You can get coil overs and have it sit any way you like.

Re: Uneven stance

Yeah my 02 Suburban is like this too. I think it has something to do with torque and maybe it wears out the shocks/spings on one side of the car faster so it droops.

Re: Uneven stance

Uh, what about weight? Perhaps there's more crap on the passenger side than the driver side?

Such as the battery, A/C crap, ECM..

the driver side has cruise control crap, ABS, etc.. Batteries are pretty heavy, heh.
the passenger **** is more on the outer edge of the car.. where the driver stuff is more towards the engine

Re: Uneven stance

This question gets posted frequently on the "Suspension, Chassis and Brakes" forum. Might be worth a "search".

Re: Uneven stance

I did a search a bit ago.. it's designed that way, so when the driver sits in.

Not very intelligent, as all drivers weigh different weights.

There was no negative intent with my comment on using the "search".... I was simply trying to HELP you understand where you might find some interesting threads regarding the problem.... I kinda figure its the moderator's job to help new members.

Re: Uneven stance

The statment wasn't mean't for you "Injuneer". I appreciate the "search" suggestion. It was meant for "Z28SORR" who did not seem to like to hear this question because he had heard it many times previously. Thanks!
