troubleshooting window switch?

Hey guys, I had posted in another thread about my window motor possibly going out ( I hijacked the thread) but figure I should repost. I got some great advice earlier. for anyone who might not of seen the previous post : The window went down drivers side and never came up.

I used a test light on the switch and found for the drivers control switch 2 hot leads that light the test light on when the switch is depressed DOWN. when I tested the switch right next to it (passenger) the two wires lit it up with one of them pressed up the other when pressed down. Not both for up and down. This the way they function? I am just trying to rule out the switch being the culprit. I don't have a drill for knocking out the rivets etc if it is the motor. I dread shop repair prices.

for the price a shop would charge you to put a new one in you could prolly buy the motor off ebay (bout 30 shipped) and a cheap drill from walmart.

its pretty easy to fix even for someone that isnt all that mechanicly bright.. like me

good luck

A replacement switch is about $6. If you can't be sure its bad, its not going to break the bank if you just get a new one to try.
