Trip odometer getting stuck
Trip odometer getting stuck
Lately my trip odometer has been getting stuck...if I reset it, it only goes to ~10 miles then stops. Is this an easy fix or do I have to keep a pad and a pen with me?
Re: Trip odometer getting stuck
The odometer assembly is held to the back of the gauge cluster with 3 screws and can be swapped out. When I replaced my 110 mph cluster with a 150 mph cluster I was able to retain my original odometer so there was no discrepancy.
It is also possible to get a replacement odometer and set it to the exact same mileage as your current odometer, then swap it in.
You may want to remove your odometer and inspect it. There may be something stuck in it that you can fix or lubricate.

The 4th gen is electronic.

When TGO comes back on line, go to the FAQ page (Look for JamesC). The fix for the mechanical trip is detailed there, the cost next to nothing, the time involved 20 minutes or so once the cluster is removed.
