Tranny fluid leaking near radiator!!!!
Ok well just got car back from shop and noticed that when i got home. I see tranny fluid all over the ground. Well i end up checking all the lines for the tranny and tighten them up. Well come to find out the line right near the battery that goes into the radiator is were its leaking. Well i tighten it as much as possible and its still leaking. The radiator is brand new and is leaking out of the threads.
Any thing i can do to make it not leak? use teflon tape, teflon paste anything?
I really dont want to replace the line, but i will if i have too..
or is it the radiator?

Re: Tranny fluid leaking near radiator!!!!
its a flared line and you should not need anything on the threads. The threads do not do the sealing the end of the line does. Teflon tape probably wont stop the leak. My first question is what was dont at the shop? If they had to remove that line then take it back and tell them to fix it.

Re: Tranny fluid leaking near radiator!!!!
Whoever worked on the car messed up the threads so that they are not letting the flare seat internally.
Take it back to them they messed it up when they put in the radiator.

They had to take the rad out so the must have mesed up the line. Glad to hear the teflon worked... just keep an eye on it to see it leaks again. It might since the sealing point is the flare not the nut.
