Thread sealant on WP Bolts?
Thread sealant on WP Bolts?
Hey guys I was wondering if you have to put thread sealant on the bolts for the water pump. I just got pretty much everything back together from replacing my water pump. I haven't filled it with coolant yet so I'm wondering if I need to can I pull each bolt 1 by 1 to put thread sealant on them? Or would that ruin the seal on the gaskets? Thanks guys.
Re: Thread sealant on WP Bolts?
i went ahead and put sealant on them so hopefully they seal. My only worry now is that I bought a reman water pump (autozone)and a few people I've talked to at a local Napa said that was a big mistake. They also told me that you should always replace the opti when you replace the water pump. Who knows. From searching on here I've seen mixed answers. Now I'm going to replace the plugs and wires. Hopefully I'll be done by Monday morning!!!

You are probably correct. Also I just finished up with my driver side plugs/wires. The only hard part was getting the #7 stock wire out of its stock clamps. I guess the passenger side is going to be much harder but alot of the posts I read on hear had me sweating about both sides. Then again everyone used to bitch about how hard it was to do certain jobs on my Eagle Talon and it always turned out to be a snap working on that thing.
