theft shock sensor question
theft shock sensor question
i just seen for the first time, a theft deterrant shock sensor mounted by the spare tire. is this a factory item and does it mean i have an alarm on the car? on my fob, i can set off a panic alarm, but when i lock the doors, one click locks them, second clicks the horn but to my knowledge there is no alarm on the car. i can get a pic of the sensor if need be.
if you have that sensor, you do have the UA6 code. If you look at the sensor, and tap a wrench nearby the sensor on the metal, the light will flash. You do have an alarm on the car. You can easily test the alarm by locking yourself in the car with the sensor visible and the alarm armed. Just hit your fist on the metal near the sensor a few times. It wont go off on the first hit because it allows for a bump or two incase someone accidentally walks into it in a parking lot or a scenario like that. It is meant incase someone is trying to break into the car and nudges the car repeatedly.
yeah just came back to post i found the code. ua6.
next question then, did the factory alarm system have a valet switch somewhere? *little more backround, 19z28 i tried what you said and it didnt go off and also opened the doors wit the car in the armed state. when i first got the car, a dealer told me its not factory which is why the sensor threw me for a curve today
edit- i guess it was disabled at some point. hope vats still works.

Its set from the factory as a 2 stage alarm, you can programming mode to change that. Also you can turn the little **** on the side of it to adjust the sensitivity. And man does it work too. I have mine cranked, if it starts to rain too hard my alarm starts chirping.
